The quality of the steel has greatly improved since then, but still retains the functionality of the shape, which gives the axe the same good qualities that the original had over 1,000 years ago. It is an excellent all-round tourist axe of smaller dimensions. It is light, takes up little space in the backpack and the easy-to-fit felt sheath protects the sharp edge when the axe is not in use.
